Hey!! This is Nelson the Norse Fan and I'm 20 years old. I live in Iowa and I'm surrounded
by Green Slime fans. I have been a Viking fan since I began watching
football at the age of 6 in 1986.
I probably became a Norse Fan because I have a good number of relatives in the Frozen North of Minnesota. I have never lived in Minnesota unless you count the average 3.5 - 4 weeks I'm there a year.I have season tickets and I've been to twelve Vikings games in the Metrodome, those games are: 1987-Washington, 1990-San Francisco, 1996-Buffalo, 1998-New Orleans, 1999-Oakland and Dallas, 2000-Chicago, Miami, Tampa Bay, Arizona, Green Bay, and New Orleans (Playoffs). At least now they're 7-5 when I've seen 'em.
I have also been to training camp in Mankato. That has been in August of 1997 and 1999. While I was there in 1997 I managed to get autographs of Cris Carter, John Randle, Robert Smith,
Brad Johnson, Jake Reed, Randall Cunningham, Dennis Green, Mike Morris, Dewayne Rudd, Duane Clemons, Chris Walsh, and many others, it was a very successful day. However due to the large crowds in 1999 I only came away with two big name players, Todd Stuessie and Jeff Christy.Cris Carter is my favorite Viking
because "All he does is catch touchdowns." My other favorites through the years have been: John Randle, Darrin Nelson, Anthony Carter, and Scott Studwell.
I have a bunch of "gameday rituals." They include putting a small wooden Viking figurine, made in Scandanavia, on the kitchen table, along with other rituals such as always listening to "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Skol Vikings!" before the game.If you want to see where I talk Vikings go to Sports 'N' You's Message Board .
